Central Park Splash Pad & Playground
A zero-depth splash pad at 30842 La Miranda with sprayers, bubblers, dumping buckets and misters, plus shade canopies, seating, a tempered shower and restrooms. The city designs it for ages 2–12 with an adult required. Central Park also has a train-and-bug-themed playground and an amphitheater hill, and the library is across the street. The park itself is managed by the SAMLARC homeowners association, and the city page doesn't say whether non-residents are welcome, so call the city (949-635-1800) before a special trip. Bring swim diapers for non-potty-trained kids; no food is allowed at the pad.

Rancho Santa Margarita Library (OC Public Libraries)
The branch at 30902 La Promesa has an AWE Station with educational games for ages 2–8 in English and Spanish, and posts storytimes and youth programs on its branch calendar. Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park
A 544-acre OC Parks wilderness park at 30952 Oso Pkwy, with a Coto de Caza mailing address, just south of Rancho Santa Margarita. It has five miles of easy multi-use trails, a visitor center with wildlife and park-history displays, and a one-acre native-plant butterfly garden around the ranger station. Picnic tables and restrooms are on site. Dogs are not allowed.
