Are splash pads in Southern California free?
37 of the 47 splash pads and spray parks in our finder are completely free — they're city-park amenities. The rest are low-cost pools or pads inside paid venues; each listing shows the cost, and you can filter to free-only.
When do SoCal splash pads open for the season?
Most city splash pads run roughly Memorial Day through Labor Day, with some warm-climate cities opening earlier or staying on into fall. Hours change year to year, so check the city's page (linked from each listing) before you load up the towels.
What should we bring to a splash pad?
Water shoes (pad surfaces get hot in summer), towels, sunscreen and a change of clothes. Most free pads have no lifeguard and limited shade, so plan for morning visits on hot days and keep little ones in sight.
