Dos Picos County Park

Ramona, CA

★★★★★4.6(1,034 Google reviews)

A shaded 78-acre park under enormous coast live oaks, with a fishing pond, playground, soccer field, picnic pavilion and campground. It's the most kid-proof outdoor option in Ramona — flat, shaded, with restrooms — and the oak shade makes it usable even on warm days.

Nice little park just off the 67 and close to Ramona, it’s literally only 15 minutes from Poway. Great park for a quick stroll. There are a lot of campgrounds available, but we went for a hike instead. It’s a nice 1.5 to 2-mile hike, and if you want to take a little detour, it's definitely worth it! Parking is $5, which is totally worth it for the upkeep of the park.

We were just at the lovely Dos Picos County Park for a wedding. In addition, there were a large number of us who stayed in the campground for several nights. We have nothing but kind things to say about the wedding venue, the campground, and the park rangers and employees. The employees were outstanding, polite, and professional (even when they were reminding us of the enforced quiet hour 🙂). They took care of all the details for the wedding venue and ceremony. In addition, the restrooms and showers were clean and well stocked. The campground was clean, and quiet hour and fire time deadlines enforced. The scenery is beautiful, and the campsites were large enough for our tents, camping equipment and vehicle(s). What a delight to come from out of state, and enjoy a lovely weekend of celebration and camping in this lovely campground! I hope that I get the chance to come back and camp again.

One of the best campgrounds in San Diego County . Clean and peaceful. Ponds, playgrounds, trails.. there are so many activities to do here. Some notes: some sites are too close to each other, restrooms are under maintenance when we camp. We camp at site 09. Overall, great camping experience!

Nice quiet park! Great spaces with lots of shade and some grass. Strong water pressure at the site, but shower house was closed. Fun trails going out of the park. We liked how it was close enough to San Diego to visit stuff, but like a state park type retreat in the mountains! We will definitely be back for a longer stay next year. Not fussy about number of dogs as long as you are respectful with them.

Love this campground! Quiet, trees, breezes, hookups, nice restrooms, picnic lunch by the pond, trails, views, stargazing, has it all.
