Run by the local historical society, this restored 1920s schoolhouse lets kids peek at desert pioneer classrooms and homesteading artifacts. Small, free and quick — it pairs nicely with the neighboring Oasis of Mara. Check seasonal hours, as it closes weekdays in summer.

Unfortunately I went on the day they were closed. So I didn't get to go inside. I did enjoy walking around the premises.

This is a hidden gem in a small town catering to tourists and locals alike. Admission is free although donations gratefully accepted. The museum is housed in the original, first town schoolhouse that turns 100 yrs old this year 2026. Worth a visit, great giftshop too! Check the website for hours open. Limited, especially in ☀️ summer.

Authentic old school house, with many items from that era on display. It's free but they do accept donations.
