  We visited for a nighttime astronomy observation, which apparently is hosted regularly on Saturdays. And what an amazing community resource. We were greeted by the astronomer, whose passion for cosmic objects was downright infectious. Four telescopes were set up, focused on different bodies. Each was staffed by a knowledgeable operator, sharing science and anecdotes about the sights. The whole event was free and the only light in the area was red, allowing your eyes to really acclimate to the dark, and casting a moody glow over everything. I would definitely recommend attending such a session if you have the chance. Sharing science and passion with real, tangible demonstrations is such an important thing.

  Exceptional library and customer service. The lovely Friends of Library bookstore was a delight and I found lots of treasures. I'm looking forward to checking out a telescope and visiting the observatory.

  The tours are on Thursday and Friday from 3 to 3:45 pm. Richard was very knowledgeable and answered our questions clearly. We are planning to return on Thursday or Saturday evenings to see the telescopes at work.

  We were very impressed with the library offerings- and the separation of areas of interest, as well as meeting rooms and the awesome observatory! We attended the observatory tour, which was very interesting, unfortunately we couldn’t make the planet viewing.

  Who would know there is this beautiful library in the middle of the desert. Well designed, air conditioned and plenty of space to use. Highly recommended. Also, please support this important institution through donations or buy books! They also have a nice cafe.
