  Amazing view about 4miles off S22. Very beautiful and breathtaking on a winter day near sunset. 😍 Its down a dirt road that you dont necessarily need a vehicle with clearance, but keep your eyes open for the odd rock and sand can get deep in spots. Im sure a 2wd vehicle with the right driver could do it with momentum on a dry day, but i wouldn't recommend it. AWD or 4WD and you should have no problem. This place gets super hot in the summer, so bring plenty of water. If youre headed to Anza Borrego, Ocoltillo wells OHV or Boreggo Springs you will be in the area and should check it out. Very neat!

  Fonts Point is an absolute must-see if you're visiting Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The view from the overlook is breathtaking and unlike anything else in Southern California. Looking out across the vast badlands feels like standing on the edge of another world. The drive to the viewpoint is part of the adventure. While some vehicles can make the trip, a four-wheel-drive vehicle is highly recommended, and you should expect to get a little dusty along the way. The road is manageable but can be rough depending on conditions. What makes Fonts Point especially memorable is that it still feels like a hidden gem. Unless you spend time exploring the area or talking with locals, it's easy to miss one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the desert. Whether you visit at sunrise, sunset, or during the day, the panoramic views are unforgettable. If you're in the Anza-Borrego area, don't miss it.

  Fonts Point in Anza-Borrego is absolutely breathtaking! Getting there is an adventure in itself—a 4.5-mile drive each way through a sandy wash that’s best navigated with all-wheel drive or 4x4. The journey is worth every moment, though, because the views at the top are nothing short of spectacular. Once you arrive, you’re greeted by an awe-inspiring panorama of the badlands, a maze of rugged, eroded formations carved by millions of years of natural forces. Beyond the badlands, you can see the vast expanse of the Salton Sea in the distance, adding a stunning contrast to the dramatic desert terrain. The peacefulness of the desert combined with the grandeur of Fonts Point makes this a must-visit destination in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

  Awesome place to visit, but you certainly need a 4x4 to get through the deep sand in spots. It is 4-miles each way of dirt, rock and sand trails. I am sure some non 4x4 vehicles have made it, but I pulled out two vehicles that did not. Once you get to the lookout point, you have amazing views of the badlands for miles. I have been here twice and will be sure to come back. The sunset or sunrise views are spectacular.

  Stunning badlands views,certainly the best in the park. Access requires a drive down 4 miles of highly sandy dirt road so use a heavy duty 4 wheel drive vehicle to avoid issues. Hiking is also possible on foot but is strenuous given the small but persistent incline and exposure to the sun and wind. We did it this way, but in November when the weather wasn't oppressive and we are both experienced hikers.
