Who lands here

Families who want a true small-beach-town lifestyle with Los Alamitos Unified schools, along with military families connected to Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach and many retirees in Leisure World.

The vibe

Relaxed and old-fashioned in Old Town, with surf, bikes and Main Street shops, plus quieter neighborhoods like College Park and Bridgeport inland.

Schools

Seal Beach is part of Los Alamitos Unified, which also serves Los Alamitos, Rossmoor and Surfside. Schools follow your street address, so check the district's attendance boundaries before you sign a lease.

Getting around

Pacific Coast Highway and the 405 and 22 freeways connect Seal Beach to Long Beach and the rest of OC. OC Bus serves the city, and kids 6–18 ride free with Youth Ride Free; there is no Metrolink station in town.

Finding your community

The Mary Wilson Library is an OC Public Libraries branch with a bilingual storytime, the city runs a community pool and a popular Junior Lifeguards program, and the city supplies water. Coastal residents should also know their evacuation zone in Genasys Protect.
