🧭 Moving to San Bernardino County

Just moved to Rancho Cucamonga?

Rancho Cucamonga is the polished, master-planned heart of the west Inland Empire, set against the San Gabriel foothills with newer neighborhoods, big parks and a city-run library system.

Who lands here

Families trading Los Angeles or Orange County prices for more space, plus professionals commuting by Metrolink or the 210, 10 and 15 freeways. Many look specifically at the northern foothill neighborhoods and newer Etiwanda-area tracts.

The vibe

Clean, suburban and organized, with Victoria Gardens as the outdoor social hub and the Lewis Family Playhouse and Biane Library next door. Foothill neighborhoods feel quieter and more rural; south of Foothill Boulevard is busier and more commercial.

Schools

Elementary and middle school is split among four K-8 districts (Alta Loma, Central, Cucamonga and Etiwanda), and high school is Chaffey Joint Union High School District. The city's own Find My School lookup shows both your K-8 district and your high school by address, so check it before signing a lease.

Getting around

You'll want a car, but the Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink station on the San Bernardino Line reaches downtown LA, and Omnitrans' ONTConnect shuttle runs from the station to Ontario International Airport. Omnitrans buses are free for K-12 students with a student ID.

Finding your community

Two city libraries with storytimes, a busy events calendar and recreation programs listed in the Grapevine magazine. Foothill families should sign up for county TENS alerts and review Ready RC, since Santa Ana winds and wildfire are real seasonal concerns.

Now go explore Rancho Cucamonga

A friendly orientation, not advice. Neighborhoods, schools and prices change and depend on your exact address — always verify school assignments and lease details directly. New to the area? Start with the New to SoCal hub.
