🧭 Moving to Riverside County

Just moved to Murrieta?

Murrieta is Temecula's northern neighbor along I-15 and I-215, a fast-grown suburb with its own city library and Murrieta Valley Unified schools.

Curated by Simir Shah

Who lands here

Young families and commuters drawn by newer tract homes, parks and schools, many coming from San Diego, Orange County and LA.

The vibe

Family-centered suburbia with sports parks, a Town Square civic center and hills on the west side; quieter than Temecula's tourist areas.

Schools

Most of Murrieta is in Murrieta Valley Unified; some edges fall into neighboring districts. Use MVUSD's Find My School lookup, linked from its New Student Enrollment page.

Getting around

Plan on driving. RTA CommuterLink 206 heads north to the Corona Transit Center, Route 61 reaches the Perris Metrolink station, and youth ride RTA free.

Finding your community

Murrieta Public Library is city-run and honors Riverside County library cards; a larger Children's Library is set to open February 2027. The city pool closed in 2023, so summer swim moves to Vista Murrieta High.
