Things to Do in Lakeside with Kids

Lakeside, in San Diego's East County, is built around Lindo Lake — the only natural lake in the county — with a stroller-easy loop, boathouse and playgrounds. Add trout fishing at Lake Jennings, the fragrant gardens of Summers Past Farms, and the free Kumeyaay history at the Barona museum.

💡 Local tip: Lake Jennings runs fishing and boat rentals mainly Friday–Sunday. The oak-shaded county parks (Stelzer, El Monte) charge a small day-use fee but give real East County wilderness close to town.
