The visitor center at 906 W Sinclair Rd has a gift shop, restrooms and a bird diorama, and the picnic area, an observation tower and the self-guided Rockhill Trail (about 2 miles round trip to a Salton Sea overlook) start next to the parking lot. Winter is peak bird season; from June to September it is extremely hot with the center closed, so skip it or go at sunrise. Phone (760) 348-5278.

on the San Andreas fault! they've had to cut out and lift buried lines and move the road. Ongoing work to save the railroad line. Not much to see unless you appreciate the signifigance.
