Calipatria sits about 184 feet below sea level, so the flag flies at sea level. A quick 15-minute stop on a Salton Sea drive; midday summer heat makes it a bad place to linger.

I recently visited but not for flag pole. I parked accross the street due to handicap parking accross the street at City Hall that's where I was advised that the appointment would be. I wheeled person accross the street because we had an appointment, to our surprise there was no wheelchair ramp. Upon exiting we had to use the slope ramp at the street corner to walk/ wheelchair back to city hall where we had parked.

I go to the World's highest, Largest and Oldest everything I can find. I love when towns use what they have to draw interest. These places are the true spirit of America and I hope they never stop. The flagpole looked amazing done up with Holiday lights.
