A small city museum inside a 1910 Carnegie library building, with Chumash exhibits, a re-created old Lompoc storefront street, and pioneer history — a good short, rainy-day stop.

Been going here since birth as my great grandpa was the original donor of the artifacts. I’m so proud of how this museum and all the board members, directors, and volunteers (and anyone else in charge) has improved and kept the originality of this museum that was first the original library! It is maintained so nicely and all the staff and volunteers are always so kind when we go to visit. Most don’t recognize us as it has obviously been many years since his passing and many generations later- so when we go and get treated nicely it is so nice to know that is obviously how everyone who walks in there gets treated and not just because of our name. They have everything very organized and nicely labeled, and always clean, and of course a wonderful gift shop that my kids always enjoy getting little trinkets at! Can’t wait for the reopening and to see what comes next for this museum!

Really love the rotating Native American Artifacts. Today I had the opportunity to learn about the Navajo Mud Man. Very interesting and educational little museum.
