  Foothill Ranch Library is a small spot, but it’s been helpful since Heritage Park Library in Irvine (which isn’t part of OC Public Libraries) is closed right now. It’s about a 15-minute drive. Everything works well—except for the office hours. My wife often wants to take the kids there on Fridays or Sundays, and I always ask, “Are you sure it’s open today?” She usually checks, sighs, and says, “It’s closed today.” The hours can be a little confusing, and that makes things tricky sometimes. Maybe it’s just how this branch operates, but it’s not ideal for weekend visits. If it’s closed, then we go to the OC Library in Tustin instead.

  Used to be a really nice library, but something must have changed recently—maybe the management? The staff are not friendly or attentive at all. There are no coloring sheets, crafts, or any activities available to keep younger kids entertained or engaged, which is surprising for a public library. Most of the time, the staff are just chatting behind the counter instead of helping patrons or paying attention to what’s happening in the children’s area. Sadly, the quality and atmosphere have gone downhill a lot.
