Mount Helix Park
La Mesa, CA

A privately maintained hilltop park with a stone amphitheater, short trails and one of the best all-round views in East County, free to the public. The summit lot holds only about a dozen cars — on clear evenings park in the lower lot on Vivera Drive and walk up.

Mount Helix is absolutely beautiful! The views are breathtaking, and you can see for miles in every direction. It's a peaceful place to relax, take in the scenery, and watch the sunset. The area is clean, easy to access, and definitely worth the visit. Whether you're looking for a quiet spot to unwind or take some great photos, I highly recommend checking it out!

I've always enjoyed coming here to just relax from the city. I came here as a child, a teenager, a young adult & now I come with my children. It's changed a lot throughout the years but the peace, is always the same.

It is a fascinating place with a beautiful view. You can take excellent photos, go for a walk, enjoy nature and the fresh air, and spend some time in peace and tranquility. I recommend visiting in the afternoon, as there are fewer people; the only downside is that parking is limited—you have to drive around and wait for a spot to open up.

I’m ride my bicycle and it was challenging. Some narrow roads and impatient drivers, but safe smooth roads. This is not for the faint of heart but was worth the challenge. Beautiful views all the way to the ocean.
