  Fun nature center. The short hiking loop nearby is good for kids, and they have a little puppet theater with a box full of animal puppets to use. There are lots of bird taxidermies inside among other live animals and information. They sell hacky sacks. Facilities are well maintained

  Lots of trails and wildlife everywhere. Fantastic spot for bird lovers and very informative signage inside the small museum. Worth the trip for small kids and families especially if the weather is nice. Place is well kept and good price.

  Great way to spend a few hours. The main building is like a mini museum with some info about the area as well as some small animals on exhibit (snakes, lizards, quail). And right outside are easy hikes and nice views of the surrounding area.

  The Perimeter trail is easy, dog friendly with beautiful views from the high point. There was a recent fire at the high point so there are lots of burn scars.

  Great place to have a picnic and hike. The center itself is educational and interactive for kids. Has clean restrooms and a water fill station. Hiking is also kid friendly. The trails connect the camp site as well. Which we did not visit but will next time. Parked on the hwy and walked in to avoid paying to park. Took the perimeter trail to downtown Idyllwild for lunch and hiked back. Low 70's lots of pine cones and acorns on the ground this time of year. Great for birding. Will definitely visit again. Worth the drive for a nice afternoon in the trees and fresh air.
