Parks & Hiking
Exploration Park
A Terramor Village playground down the path at the end of Citrus Lane, with a massive tower, climbing nets, log balance beams and a pioneer-wagon play piece. It's a neighborhood LARMAC playground that LARMAC counts among its resident amenities.
Free; LARMAC resident amenityFounders Park
At 12 acres, Founders Park (28275 Avendale Blvd) is Ladera's largest, with an inclusive playground for ages 5–12, picnic areas with BBQs and a gazebo. Like almost all Ladera parks it's LARMAC property, and its amenities (including picnic reservations) are a perk of resident membership. The park is unfenced, and visitors mostly come for the Sunday farmers market beside it.
Free; LARMAC resident amenityLadera Ranch Town Green
LARMAC's Town Green at 28801 Sienna Parkway, across from the Mercantile West shops, has a gazebo, a rose garden, a military memorial and the old oak tree called the heart of Ladera. Walk the path from the gazebo to the oak and you'll see it's laid out in a heart shape. It's an unfenced HOA green, and an easy stop while you're shopping or eating at Mercantile.
FreeLadera Ranch Trail (Arroyo Rim)
LARMAC's Ladera Ranch Trail starts off Cecil Pasture Road. It follows the rim of the Arroyo Trabuco from Antonio Parkway, passes under the bridge and climbs toward the powerline trail. It's a dirt fire road with some singletrack, and LARMAC warns that stamina is required, so it suits older kids more than toddlers.
FreeMission Hills Park (gated, residents only)
RESIDENT-ONLY: This park at 71 Bell Pasture Road sits inside gated Covenant Hills and is open to all Ladera residents through LARMAC access-card gates. Its putting course was refurbished in 2024, when gaga ball and cornhole were added. Dogs aren't allowed.
LARMAC access card requiredSienna Botanica Trail & 'Frog Park'
LARMAC lists the Sienna Botanica Trail as a 2.9-mile loop suited to all hiking and mountain-biking levels. Along it sits Sienna Botanica Park, nicknamed 'Frog Park', whose play structure looks like a lily sprouting from a lily pad. These are HOA trails and parks that LARMAC counts among its resident membership benefits.
Free; LARMAC resident amenityTerramor Aquatic Park (residents only)
RESIDENT-ONLY: LARMAC's aquatic park at 26281 O'Neill Drive, which opened in 2005 as the 'Bucket Park', has reservable cabanas and picnic areas. LARMAC lists it as closed right now. Access comes with LARMAC membership, so it isn't an option for visiting families.
LARMAC resident amenityTerramor Skate Park (residents only)
RESIDENT-ONLY: Ladera's 14,000 sq ft skate park at 26283 Sienna Parkway has multiple bowls and rails, but every skater needs a valid LARMAC skate park pass from the Avendale Clubhouse (949-218-0900). Non-resident families should use the free public skate park at Cañada Vista Park in Rancho Santa Margarita instead.
