  So many hiking options to choose from. We went out towards the ocean. I think it was a six mile out and back. Some grades but not too taxing. Not too much wildlife. A lot of little lizards. We could not see the Pacific due to the marine layer. Pretty much had the place to ourselves. Super nice Ranger at the gate. Fee was nominal.

  Update: the main parking lot is closed with the reopening planned for 9/2025 Great place to hike. Parking is pay per day. From the parking lot, you can head North on the paved road to walk past the reservoir and connect with many dirt roads to the hills to the East and West. You can also take the fire road to the Trippet Ranch house and then on into the hills where you can eventually hike to Will Rodgers State Park. Either way there are always lots of flowers, birds, reptiles, squirrels, rabbits, and sometimes deer. I saw a bob cat once.

  Great location and trails for all types of hiker: easy to expert, short and multi mile trails. Get there early as parking is limited; pay to park in the lot at the vase of most trailheads or find street parking for free. There are trails along the street that will take to the main lot as well. Highly recommend!!

  This is a great starting point to some of the Topanga canyon trails. Eagle rock is just a couple miles (uphill) from the parking lot. Musch trail is very scenic and pretty. Except for a very small portion of Mush trial, most of the trails here are along rigdlines so it means there is basically no tree cover, in the middle of the day you will be directly exposed to a lot of sun, so wear lots of sunblock and bring a hat. If you get here early there is usually very little people on the trails. There is a parking fee for parking at the trail site, its like $8 maybe. Many people try to find parking in the neighborhood around the trail site and just walk in so they don't' have to pay. I think its worth the small parking fee, the restrooms are really well kept and it helps support the parks programs. They used to only take cash but now they have a parking machine that takes card so its pretty convenient.

  Lots of parking space with $3 for an hour , $10 for full day car parking(free for annual state parks holders). Restrooms and picnic benches are available. Did Musch trail to Eagle rock to parking which is a loop trail. I suggest you to do it clockwise. It’s greenery with splendid views all over. And also somewhat muddy due to recent rains, suggest to wear hiking / waterproof shoes. Some parts of the trail is overgrown with bees and flies. Came across Musch camp on my way to the rock. So many bicyclists on the path.
