  Such a spectacular vision of a generous family to donate this land as I look out over it I see the raw wild part of the west the way it was then and it’s the way it is now even after the fires it just goes right back to what it was if you’re in the LA area for any amount of time, please take the time and go to Will Rogers Park You can see the equine area and go for a walk. There’s still a lot of construction due to the fire, so pack light pack it in pack it out state park so be prepared to pay for the state park fee is beyond amazing though and it’s resilient at sunset. You can see different colors come out in the hillside Early spring. It’s a little chilly mid June. Still a little chilly but beautiful always wear a sweatshirt and remember always think like a Ranger.

  Will Rogers State Historic Park is a real trailblazer of an LA park — pun intended. I used to come here often before the Palisades fire, whether for hiking, biking, or watching the polo games. Going back for the first time after the fire was emotional, but also genuinely uplifting. Yes, it’s sad to see parts of Will Rogers’ ranch gone, but the park still has its soul — and those incredible 360° views are still there: ocean, Beverly Hills, downtown LA, and the Santa Monica Mountains all around you. Nature is slowly taking back its rights, and it’s worth witnessing. A special mention to the park staff, who are among the friendliest I’ve met in any park. Please go back, visit, hike, support them, and help keep this beautiful place alive. Pro tip: Look for the wildflowers growing back — it’s not just a visual experience, it’s an olfactive one too, with wild plants and herb scents all around you.
