San Diego Air & Space Museum – Gillespie Field Annex

This is the museum's working restoration hangar and extra exhibit space, on the north side of Gillespie Field. Kids can see military jets, sport and racing planes, an S-3 Viking and a P2 Neptune. Volunteers restore and build aircraft on site. It is far less crowded than the Balboa Park museum, and parking is easy.
