Kid suitability: medium for older kids, low with toddlers or strollers. A long, steep stairway descends from Coast Highway opposite 9th Avenue (it's nowhere near 1,000 steps, but the climb back up with gear is hard), and parking is on the street. The beach is open 6 a.m.–9 p.m., and dogs are banned at all times. A January 2025 bluff landslide damaged part of the stairs and briefly closed the beach, so check current conditions before you go.
