A family friendly Taiwanese temple with lots of cool decorations to see and to do. I recommend you park at La Puente Hills Mall and take their provided shuttles during big events, like Lunar New Year month. My family and I enjoyed their food selections in their dining hall buffet, definitely worth to check it out ($10/person & can pay via cash or credit card tap feature). Please dress appropriately to pay respect to Buddha. I find it absurd where some females wore tube tops/shorts, while males wore tank tops/shorts to the temple, very disrespectful. You don't see Christians go to church and would wear that so why do it at temples? Use some common senses.

Beautiful Buddhist temple. The ground's were very well kept. Everything was very clean and looked spotless. It was very quiet and peaceful. Everyone seemed really nice and polite. Staff was very quiet and peacefully friendly, but very helpful. The temple ground's it's self was huge. A lot of things to look at, great to visit and see.

We visited Hsi Lai Temple for the first time today and came specifically to experience the Lunar New Year celebration. It was very crowded, and the main parking lot was full, but we were able to park at a nearby plaza where a shuttle bus conveniently took visitors to the temple. The celebration and performances lasted over an hour and were absolutely beautiful. The temple grounds were stunningly decorated for the holiday, creating a very special and festive atmosphere. One of the most memorable moments was tying a red ribbon with a wish onto the golden wishing tree — such a lovely tradition. Photography and video are not allowed inside the temple, which helps preserve its peaceful and sacred atmosphere. However, filming the performances is allowed — and definitely recommended. The show was truly impressive and something very unique to experience, especially if you’re not familiar with this culture. There is also a tea house on the grounds, along with a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs and traditional items. We will definitely come back on a regular weekday to walk around the temple in a quieter, more peaceful setting and fully enjoy its calm and beauty.

I come to this place for the first time with my best friend and we had a really great experience. The temple is built around the suburban area of LA and on a small mountain, with good views and fresh air. The building structures and the statues are awesome. You can simply walk in and feel the chill vibe. The monks and staff are friendly and helpful, and they even gave my friend long pants to cover her dress when she wants to worship Buddha. The vegetarian buffet was really good and only 10$ per person. We will definitely visit again.

Hsi Lai Temple has a very peaceful feel, and it was easy for me to slow down and just take everything in at my own pace. Even without being especially religious, I found the space welcoming and comforting. It felt like a meaningful place to reflect, and I can see why someone might return here often.
