Free; roadside parking at Mountain Dr

Starts where Mountain Dr crosses Cold Spring Creek (in Gould Park). The first stretch along the year-round stream and sandstone pools is the kid-friendly part; turn around before the trail heads up toward the ridge. It's not on the 2026–27 Forest Service closure list. Expect bikes, dogs on leash and poison oak.
