Don't drive out on faith — some years there's barely a poppy. Check the Wildflower Hotline or PoppyCam first; blooms close in wind or cloud.

Visited here in 1st week of April, 2026. Seems like I missed bloom by 2 weeks or so but glad I still came to this spacious, well maintained poppy reserve. I was able to see few poppy flowers here and there. Very easy trail for any age in my opinion. Weather was nice and I saw lots or butterflies throughout. I am hoping i can visit here again when there is full bloom! $10 for entrance/parking fee.

This is a place located in an open plain or valley, where you can view California yellow/orange poppies growing anytime from mid-February to on into June every year. They cover the ground! Their website offers a live camera of the fields so one can see if there are any poppies in bloom before you drive all the way. There is plenty of parking, several restrooms and a picnic area. The entrance fee is $10. Or $9 for seniors. There is also a nice info center and gift shop.

Hiked the 5.6 mile Antelope Loop trail on a Wednesday morning mid-April. The bloom was way past by then. Wouldn't recommend going in 2026 if you want to see the flowers. Still a few dense clusters here and there, but not much. There are views of the San Gabriel mountains and the surrounding plains but you can get those elsewhere too. Trails are wide and well-marked. Need to pay 10 dollars at the parking lot. Credit cards are accepted. The visitor center is a minute's walk from the lot, and has clean restrooms, and a water-refill station.

Antelope Valley was such a beautiful place to visit. Parking was easy and convenient. The trails were well maintained, making it enjoyable to walk through and take in the views. They also have clean bathroom facilities available. The visitor center was great for learning more about the area and picking up a few gifts and souvenirs. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to spend a few hours in nature 🌼

What a pleasant visit. This is my first time visiting Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Over the next 2-3 weeks when all the flowers are in full bloom, this park will definitely show off its hills with vibrant purple, orange and yellow colors.
