The City of LA Rec and Parks center on the boardwalk runs two children's play areas, a gymnastics area, basketball, handball and pickleball courts, sand volleyball, the skate park and the outdoor Muscle Beach Gym. Kids love watching the lifters and the basketball games. It closes on city holidays, and Muscle Beach also closes on rainy days and for permitted events.
