AI summary of 5 Google reviews — not a first-hand visit. How we write these

Hilly and sunny, so reviewers advise comfortable shoes, water and shade breaks; there are plenty of benches and food stops. A daily bird show is the one people single out, so check the schedule on arrival. Around four hours covers most of it. The elephants are no longer there.

130+ acres of animals plus a kids' playground and botanical gardens inside Griffith Park.

I loved this zoo. The animals are looked after very well. Most animals were available to see, which was great. There are plenty of benches to sit and rest as well as places to eat and drink. Because the weather was pretty hot, most animals were hiding away and not moving much. You must see the bird show that starts at noon sharp. You get to see many different rare birds and hear a lot of information about them. This place is perfect for kids to come along. Tickets are $27. There wasn't a long line in the morning on a Friday. I highly recommend this amazing zoo for a visit and to support wildlife conservation efforts the staff is performing. Great work!

We really enjoyed visiting the LA Zoo! It’s a beautiful, spacious zoo with plenty of places to sit, relax, cool off in the shade and grab cold drinks or something to eat, which makes a big difference on hot days. The zoo is so large that I don’t think we even managed to see everything. We couldn’t find the big cats, so we’ll definitely have to come back for another visit. The only disappointing part was learning that the elephants are no longer at the zoo. We were really looking forward to seeing them. Overall, we had a wonderful day and would definitely recommend visiting, especially with kids!
