Outdoor railroad museum in Griffith Park with more than 40 historic locomotives and rail cars dating back to the 1880s, where kids climb aboard vintage engines up close. A half-mile miniature train, running since 1978, circles the grounds — and admission to see the full-size collection is free.

Had a blast with the kids here. Free to the public. Donations encouraged. Big space for the kids to run around and explore. Paid train rides for $3-4 a person. Exhibits were informative and fun to walk through. They offer private events as well for a fair price. Definitely planning on coming more often

A wonderful collection of Locomotives, passengers cars and freight cars, including The Mariposa (steam locomotive) in service for nighty years, a unique display of vehicles representing modes and eras of conveyances. There are guided tours for groups up to one hour or less depending on the ages for a seven dollar per person (including a ticket to ride the train around the museum). A lot of fun for families especially for kids A good place to discover the west American railroad history . There is a free parking and few places in the shade eventually if you want to hang a little more. The Travel Town Museum is free. To support the Travel Town Museum Foundation you should visit the Store, they have a selection of gifts for visitors of all ages! books, toys, collectibles, games, puzzles, celebrating trains and railroading. Your purchases help support the Museum Foundation .
