La Mesa Library
La Mesa, CA

The county branch on Allison Avenue sits right in La Mesa Village and runs regular storytimes and school-break programs. Village street parking is metered and tight — the public structure a block over is easier on farmers market days.

We were there for storytime. My daycare kids love it here!! It's always a large crowd and the librarians do an excellent job at keeping the kids attention

Really loud library. Hard to find shaded parking. Nice staff, simple process to get library card. Really musty. Zero security on their Wi-Fi. Wish they had the kid's area in a separated section because they are really disruptive and parents don't parent anymore, so everyone pays the price of the parent's lack of teaching appropriate boundaries and public behavior. Parents just use every public space possible to indulge their overindulged children and the rest of us suffer for it. The child issue is pretty unbearable honestly and from these reviews, I see it's been that way forever. The entire world isn't your free daycare. JS! Open 7 days a week which is nice.

I don't actually go in the library much because I check out books on the county's Overdrive site. I called the library with a specific question about my library card. The librarian was friendly, helpful and patient.

Really nice staff and a large collection of books to look through. They have quite a few public computers and two 15-minute reservation computers for quick print jobs. Lots of spots to sit, too, but the lighting is a bit dim.
