  Very cute place with little shops in addition to the winery and kitchen! Lots of outdoor seating. Wine was pretty good, with choices for a bigger or smaller flight, or by the glass. We got the sangria for the hot day, decent but didn’t taste like fresh fruit mixed in besides the single orange slice, was $42 for a carafe. The pizza in particular was great, bruschetta was decent but not as flavorful as I hoped and a little soggy. I would definitely go back for the pizza. Great place to hang out with friends and they have a dedicated 21+ patio. No pets allowed though fyi. Quite warm when seated outside despite the shade and misting

  Bernardo Winery has been a staple in Rancho Bernardo for over 100 years. It offers a charming environment for Sicilian dishes, wine tasting, and casual shopping. THE FOOD 🍞 Antipasto & Bread: The fresh-baked, wood-fired ciabatta was served with an olive oil and balsamic dip. This came with standard prosciutto and salami, but the real star was the outstanding burrata and sun-dried tomato relish. The relish was bursting with flavor and paired well with the creamy cheese. 🍅 Arancini: Three large, deep-fried risotto balls served over in a pool of tasty tomato, cream, and vodka sauce. 🍕 Pizza: The fresh wood-fired pizzas had a thinner dough with a nice chew. Both the Margherita and Calabrese were quite tasty. THE DRINKS 🍷 We enjoyed the Reserve Flight of red wines and a glass of the Syrah, while the kids were happy with the fresh gelato. GROUNDS & SERVICE The grounds are wide and pleasant, featuring a coffee shop and small boutiques to visit. There is plenty of seating available. ⭐ Service: Special thanks to Marilyn and Austin for the professional service and for sharing their red wine recommendations at the tasting room! OVERALL A great place to relax in the afternoon with family and friends over some nice food and wine.

  Wine tasting setting in a community atmosphere. Walk the "street" and see an Italian restaurant (great parmesan fries, apple & gorgonzola pizza) fed 4 of us. Ladies clothes shop. $20 tastes of 3 wines - large 3 oz pours. We bought a bottle to drink and 6 to take home. Their merlot was wonderful. Even our non red drinking person liked it.

  This place is beautiful. The patio is great on a summer evening. The sangria is tasty. The pizza next door delivers to your patio seating. It's a great place to relax and meet with friends. Highly recommend.

  Beautiful property and fun to walk around, definitely a hidden gem. We went here for mother's day, sadly the food was not great. We got pasta for lunch, it was pre-made, and served in to go containers, they pop it out as soon as you order. The pasta had no flavor to it. Sometimes pre-made food can still come out with its own character, this pasta lacked any character or taste.
