Double Peak Park

San Marcos, CA

★★★★★4.8(1,735 Google reviews)

At about 1,646 feet, this is the highest point in San Marcos, with 360-degree views from the Pacific to the mountains on a clear day, plus a fun playground with rock-climbing structures and shaded picnic tables right at the summit. You can drive all the way up Double Peak Drive so little legs don't have to hike — but the trails are there if you want them.

The peaks above the clouds. This park has an amazing sunrise view. 360 degree view of San Marcos. We thought of going to it for 10-15 minutes but ended up spending about an hour and half just taking in the amazing panoramic views of San Marcos. There are amazing trails up and down the peaks.

A beautiful park with an amazing panoramic view of north San Diego county from the mountains all the way to the ocean. Plenty of parking. Not overcrowded. Easy to get to.
