A charming turn-of-the-century town square where kids can ride a real vintage train and a hand-car on weekends. Come Saturday morning to pair the train with the farmers market (8am–1pm) for produce, kettle corn and live music. The grassy grounds and historic buildings make an easy, low-cost outing even when the train isn't running.

Cool little park. They have a handful of bbq setups with a good amount of benches. There is a pathway that goes around and it's just got a chill vibe. There is a restaurant that I have ate at before and it's pretty good. I believe train still runs on the weekend mornings. It worth going and checking it out.

We went to Old Poway Park on Saturday to enjoy the farmer's market as well taking a ride on the train. They have an annual family membership for only $50. Perfect if you have littles that enjoy trains.

This is such a great park. It's great place for a stroll that either ends with a sit in the park to enjoy the trees or the creek, or at Uvas winery for tacos and a wine slushie, or Hop Stop for a beer and some bites. The Hamburger Factory is directly in the park. Not as cute since it's renovation though. There is a fountain and market lights at night. During the summer there are often live bands playing in the gazebo. The park hosts old fashioned holidays that are child friendly. Every Saturday there is a farmers market and the train runs around the park. You can buy tickets at the little train station and ride an old train car around the park and wave. At night you find couples walking or people walking their dogs and the frogs sing in the creek. It's a perfect old fashioned park for a picnic, walk, or wander.

Every event, every celebration here gives very homely feeling. We love coming here during Christmas. Lots of fun activities goes on along with food stalls, free rail museum, paid train rides. Great place to hang out with family any day.

Great little steam engine that you can ride on. It takes people around that perimeter of the park. There's also a great little museum devoted to the history of Poway. Being a history buff I loved it! There are displays about the indigenous people who originally populated the Poway area, a recreated old post office/general store with actual products from different past eras, also one on baseball throughout the years in Poway. There's also a model railroad that you can turn on and watch. The museum is free, donations are accepted.
