The children's section is the pull: a dinosaur exhibit, interactive stations and a toddler-sized restroom, plus an outdoor garden and a water play pad. The entrance is easy to miss, with the lot off the adjacent street. Reports on staff and noise conflict, some finding it louder than a library should be.

Not your average library — a full-on kid destination with a 15,000-gallon saltwater aquarium framed in titanium at the entrance and a 'Save the Planet' Children's World. Look for Stan, the 40-foot T. rex replica, plus a lighthouse and space shuttle model. Go on a weekday morning to beat the after-school crowd.

A very nice library that is worth a visit if you're in the area. However, the lack of helpfulness and friendliness from the librarians was disappointing. This type of behavior makes it intimidating for children to ask for assistance.

Cerritos Library is undeniably one of the most beautiful and well-designed libraries, and I understand why it’s a point of pride for the city. I’ve been a regular visitor for the past 2–3 years, coming every Saturday with my child to read and practice comprehension together. However, what has consistently been disappointing is the lack of basic library etiquette. A library should maintain a certain level of quiet, but many visitors treat it more like a café—talking loudly and having conversations that carry throughout the space. What’s more concerning is that staff rarely step in to address the noise or reinforce any expectations. I’m not expecting absolute silence, but there should at least be a reasonable effort to preserve a respectful reading environment. For a facility of this caliber, I truly hope more attention is given to maintaining the atmosphere that a library is meant to provide.
