  Cerritos Library is undeniably one of the most beautiful and well-designed libraries, and I understand why it’s a point of pride for the city. I’ve been a regular visitor for the past 2–3 years, coming every Saturday with my child to read and practice comprehension together. However, what has consistently been disappointing is the lack of basic library etiquette. A library should maintain a certain level of quiet, but many visitors treat it more like a café—talking loudly and having conversations that carry throughout the space. What’s more concerning is that staff rarely step in to address the noise or reinforce any expectations. I’m not expecting absolute silence, but there should at least be a reasonable effort to preserve a respectful reading environment. For a facility of this caliber, I truly hope more attention is given to maintaining the atmosphere that a library is meant to provide.

  A World-Class Library Experience for the Whole Family! Cerritos Library is hands-down one of the best public libraries in California — if not the entire country. As a licensed architect and a father of two, I’m consistently amazed by the thoughtful design, modern infrastructure, and the way every space supports curiosity, learning, and play. We visit regularly, and my kids absolutely love it here! The architecture is stunning — a perfect blend of innovation and warmth. From the dramatic dinosaur exhibit and themed areas to the interactive digital stations and the educational zones, every corner is designed to inspire all ages. The water features and sculptures around the building create a relaxing, park-like environment that extends the experience beyond books. What I especially appreciate is the attention to real family needs: the mini restroom designed specifically for toddlers is a small but incredibly meaningful feature. It shows that this place truly understands and supports parents. Whether we’re exploring the Earth’s ecosystems, learning through play, or simply enjoying a quiet reading moment — Cerritos Library continues to be a favorite destination for my entire family.   Love this library, clean, open, has plenty of parking and stuff to do. There's an outdoor garden, water play pad, water fountains and so much more. The kid's section of the library is amazing with a vast array of books from every culture. Its hard to see where to go into to park but its off the adjacent street , parking across from police station.
