  We went when they weren't too busy, in the summertime first thing when they opened. They were very organized and the lines moved quickly. The trip up the mountain was a little unsettling, partly because I didn't realize the floor is what rotates, not the gondola itself. You get fantastic views of the valley. All the workers were very professional so you felt safe. I asked our operator how many times she had made the trip up the mountain. I was flabbergasted when she told me 192,000! She has been there 15 years. It is well worth the cost, especially since it's so much cooler at the top. Give it a try!

  Unusual and exciting experience for adults and children. The view from the rotating tram is spectacular and gives you a hint of where life lingers in these mountains. The visitor center at the top has a lot of room at different levels for the visitors to disperse and not feel crowded. The air, while noticeably thinner, is absolutely delicious at the top of the mountain, you can't get enough of it. The theater at the visitor center could use a more modern video. The hikes are well designed and divided into difficulty levels. If you are not ready for some serious challenge, at least take the shortest hike and enjoy the views, the air and nature. Depending on the time of year take seriously how to dress - the temperature difference at 8500 above sea level is significant! I appreciate storage lockers and a shop with some essentials if you were not quite ready for a longer hike. I am not sure why Ride and Dine ticket packages are not available until 4pm. We ended up not eating at the top. A missed opportunity in my opinion for the establishment to get more money.

  Book your tickets online if you can!! We decided to go at the last minute and all the time slots were sold out online for the Sunday we were going. We called and were told to get there when they open at 8am or risk standing in line for over an hour in the heat. So we got our butts up early and arrived at 7:30am. Parking was $15. Only a handful of people ahead of us in line to get tickets. The tram runs every 15 minutes and we were lucky to get on the 8:15am tram. What a fun 10 min ride up the mountain! Worth the $35 imo. We explored the nice little museum before walking down to the Ranger Station and the trails below. So glad that we went early because it got busier and busier on the trails as the day progressed. We did the easy nature trail and the desert view trail. We saw many squirrels and birds, including a hawk. We will definitely do this again!

  We visited the Aerial Tramway as a party of 6, 2 of which were very young children. We had a wonderful time. Everything was well organised. We got there early so there was no line and we were able to park close to the entrance. The trip up was excellent with fantastic views from the rotating cars...what a brilliant idea. Once at the top Everything in the building was clean and tidy. We went for a walk around the shorter nature trail loop since we had strollers with us. What a wonder full experience awaited us....it was like a secret world up there with a lovely walk through the woods....we didn't want to leave. The views over Palm Springs and surrounding valley were also stunning. The journey down was also fun....great views again....and a singalong!! Sweet Caroline etc etc. All in all an excellent day out. I highly recommended it.

  Best way to spend an afternoon while you are in the area. I recommend showing up early. No need to purchase tickets ahead of time during the warm months or mon-wed. We came during the summer months. It gets hot in Palms Springs but the temperature does get ALLOT cooler when you arrive at the top of the mountain. There's a cafe at the bottom and a full restaurant and Bar at the top. Plenty of food options. If you don't want to spend allot of money at the restaurant, there is a small Cafe that sells Sandwiches and pizza slices. Once you arrive at the top you have Lots of "Trail" options. From 1 mile trail to 10+ mile hike/trail for experts. I took my kids so we did the smaller trail and had the best views while walking the trail. I can't wait to come back in the winter months to experience the cold.
