Things to Do in Baldwin Park with Kids

Baldwin Park is a tight-knit San Gabriel Valley city with a fun claim to fame: the very first In-N-Out started here in 1948, and a faithful replica of that tiny stand stands as a free little museum near the original site. Add Morgan Park's splash pad and amphitheater, the Family Place library, and the creekside Walnut Creek Nature Park, and it's an easy, welcoming stop.

💡 Local tip: The In-N-Out replica is a photo stop, not a restaurant (open Thu–Sun 11am–2pm) — you can still snap pictures over the fence any time. Morgan and Barnes parks both run summer splash pads, so bring a towel.

Things to do in Baldwin Park

Parks & Hiking

Morgan Park

Baldwin Park's central hub, with a big playground, splash pad, soccer field and an outdoor amphitheater, plus the Esther Snyder Community Center and Aquatic Center right behind it on Baldwin Park Blvd. Come on a hot afternoon so the kids can hit the splash pad, and grab a picnic shelter early on weekends since they fill up fast.

Parks & Hiking

Barnes Park Family Recreation Center

A neighborhood favorite on Patritti Ave with separate toddler and youth playground equipment, a fitness zone, basketball court and a summer splash pad. Five picnic shelters and a paved loop path make it easy to let little ones run while you keep watch from a shaded table.

Parks & Hiking

Walnut Creek Nature Park

A shady little green space on Frazier St with a playground, gazebo and a paved path that loops the perimeter and connects into the wider Baldwin Park Greenway trail along the creek. It's flat and stroller-friendly, and the tree cover makes it one of the cooler spots in town for a morning walk spotting birds and squirrels.

Parks & Hiking

Hilda L. Solis Park

A tidy ~2-acre park on Badillo St with a tot lot, open turf and basketball courts, plus a paved path and footbridge over to the Baldwin Park Teen Center. If you have older kids, the Teen Center's 20-foot rock wall and game room (foosball, pool, ping-pong) are the real draw right next door.

Baldwin Park Library (LA County)

A designated Family Place Library on Baldwin Park Blvd with a bright early-childhood area stocked with books, toys and music for babies and toddlers. Check the calendar for free baby and toddler storytimes, and note it's closed Sundays and Mondays so plan a Tuesday-through-Saturday visit.

The Original In-N-Out Replica (Company Store)

A meticulous replica of the 100-square-foot 1948 stand where Harry and Esther Snyder started In-N-Out, built next to the original site on Francisquito Ave. It's a museum, not a working restaurant, so you can't order food, but the vintage neon sign, crossed palms and recreated kitchen make a fun quick photo stop. If you miss the Thu–Sun hours you can still snap pictures over the fence.
