Underwood Family Farms (Somis)

Somis, CA

The quieter sister farm — a roadside market with pygmy goats, alpacas, and sheep to feed plus acres of u-pick produce. Lower-key than Moorpark and easy with toddlers.

Such a lovely little farm! It’s easy to find, right off the main road, and made for such a fun afternoon. The staff was incredibly friendly and took the time to share the history of the farm, as well as tips on how to properly dry our lavender. You can tell they really care about what they do. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the produce looked absolutely picture-perfect. We came to pick berries, and the raspberries were plentiful! The blackberries weren’t quite ready yet, but we still found enough ripe ones to make it worthwhile. The animals were another highlight, they were all healthy, well cared for, and their pens were clean and well kept. We had such a great experience and would love to visit their other location soon. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable outing!

We had a wonderful time at Underwood Family Farms! This is where I tried the most delicious, real strawberry I’ve ever tasted. The flavor was incredible, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more. My husband and I spent a lovely day walking through the fields, exploring the farm, and visiting the animals. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We also stopped by the market and picked up a few things. The only small disappointment was that not everything sold in the market is locally grown, and some of the products were noticeably more expensive than what I’d pay at Trader Joe’s. I was a little surprised when I saw the final total at checkout. That said, the overall experience was fantastic. The fresh strawberries alone are worth the trip, and the atmosphere makes for a perfect day out. I’ll definitely be back!🍓🐐🌾

This is my favorite little farm to visit. Not only is it free admission, but it's also free parking and it's so cute and small. It was a perfect day to visit the farm today. My baby got to see the goats and we just got lucky by coming on a PICK YOUR OWN mandarins 🍊 and strawberries 🍓 day!!

After a long day picking at the Moorpark location we headed to Somis to pick some blueberries. They have a cool farmers market to purchase fresh picked fruit and vegetables. This location had the cool goat habitat and benches to relax. It’s very hot so I recommend bringing drinking water. The have port a potties located through out the farm. We picked blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and bought garlic and onions. It was a great time and the food tastes that much better when you pick it. The kids didn’t realize how much work actually goes into the harvesting and food prep for meals. The berries were fresh and delicious. The staff are so nice and extremely helpful. Ten out of ten totally recommend. Like the other location you only pay for what you pick.
