The Port renamed Bayside Park and is doubling it from about 12 to 25 acres. A new nautical-themed playground with climbing equipment, slides and swings opened in October 2026, and a splash pad in the southern section is due in spring 2027. It also has a sand beach, a fishing pier, bike paths, exercise stations and restrooms, with views of the Coronado Bridge.
