Kid suitability: high. It's one of four beaches the city recommends because it has public restrooms and outdoor showers. You reach it from Cliff Drive; there's no lot, so plan on street parking. Laguna Ocean Foundation rates the south-end tide pools moderate (best at a 2.5 ft tide or lower) and the north end advanced. Laguna's tide pools are a Marine Protected Area: look, don't touch or take anything, and never turn over rocks.
