What a fantastic place. Bring very comfortable shoes. I could have easily spent an entire day here. My top three favourites are the rose garden, the Chinese garden and the Japanese garden. I loved the fact that it is so spread out and spacious that it never feels crowded, and there were a number of quaint little cafes where one could just sit and rest and contemplate the sheer beauty of this place. I noticed there a few locals with a yearly membership who were coming for a stroll and a grab a hot drink. We interacted with one of the 1100 volunteers at the garden, and had a fantastic time. I hope to come back soon, this place makes me happy from the inside

This place is awesome, came on a Monday afternoon, will need another day to see the rest! Wasn’t too busy around 1pm on Mon. Parking was free and easy in the designated parking lot. It was hot, prepare to walk in the sun. Lots of shaded areas to sit and museum galleries with AC (Boone, American Art, and European galleries). Went to the cafe towards the end and it was amazing! Huge variety of food and super clean. We got a yogurt parfait, cut pineapples, a carne asada taco, and a tiramisu cake. Would totally recommend visiting with family, friends, and spending the day out here. We also played pokemon go while here, it was super fun and had lots of activity.

This is one of the most underrated gems in Southern California. Gorgeous gardens stretch on in acreage greater than that of the two Disney parks combined, with tickets a fraction of the price and world class art in the galleries. They keep getting better year after year, improving collections and expanding gardens and other amenities. (I really want to go to the renovated tea house!) A romantic place for a date, educational for a field trip, and even activities for young children. My preschool age son loves this place. For the best experience, go during the cooler months and avoid the days right before and after New Year's--they get a lot of extra Rose Parade tourists.

Third time is a charm. It took us about 5 hrs on a moderate pace to complete the whole garden, green house and museums. With the exception of the library which was closed 😔. We did stop to grab a bite at the Red Car Coffee Shop. We didn’t really like the tea, coffee or pastries at this particular coffee shop. Drinks tasted bland and pastries were average. Next time we may try one of the tea houses. Lines are always long though 😑 Wear comfy shoes, sunblock and airy clothes to stay cool. You can also bring in parasols and umbrellas. There is plenty of seating everywhere in case you need to take a break. Plenty of space to hang out on the lawns too. They have hands on activities to do at the Educational and Visiting Center. We really enjoyed the American museum and the rose garden. Smell the roses! My favorite was the green house, I had no idea that existed. Anyways, parking is free. Ticket price is worth it. Everyone working there is nice and helpful. Enjoy the views and being present in nature.

It is library plus beautiful gardens and art collections-what money can get for the super wealthy. The art galleries are worth visiting but the very beautiful gardens are not to be missed : Japanese garden, the Rose garden, the Chinese garden just to name a few. There are the 1919 cafe and also Rose garden tea room when you need to rest.
