  This zoo is amazing! It's smaller than some (100 acres as opposed to our 400 acre zoo at home), but the layout is fantastic, so it doesn't feel as small as it really is. There's so much to see! You don't feel like you're walking all day to see it all. They have a bus loop and a skylift included with admission that help you get around. They also have a double decker bus tour to help you learn about the zoo. What's even more amazing than the animals is the horticulture. They have plants from all over the world! Big ones, small ones, absolutely beautiful flowers, trees, bushes and grasses. Incredible to see. Plus it makes for naturally shaded areas, which are fantastic on a warm sunny day. There were many more food options than I expected. Not just the regular burgers, fries, pizza, and chicken tenders. They have tacos, noodles, chicken sandwiches, honey buns, along with different styles of ice cream and desserts. My daughter also loved the splash pad area and the big tree/adventure area for kids. She spent about an hour there that let us relax and allowed her to have some fun and cool off. Afterward, we caught a show of Dr. Zoolittle, along with the singing quartet. There was also an African themed show at the end of the night for ZooNights that was fantastic. Highly recommend this zoo for a day of family fun!

  The San Diego Zoo is an incredible attraction and absolutely worth visiting. The variety of animals is impressive, including the famous giant pandas, and there is so much to see and do that you can easily spend an entire day here. The exhibits are well designed, thoughtfully organized, and provide great viewing opportunities throughout the zoo. Be prepared to do a lot of walking—the zoo is huge—but the layout makes it easy to explore different areas and habitats. While admission is definitely on the expensive side, I think it's worth it as a one-time experience given everything the zoo has to offer. I would recommend downloading the zoo's app. It makes it much easier to navigate, plan an efficient route, and ensure you don't miss any of the animals or exhibits you're most interested in seeing. Overall, a fantastic experience and a must-visit if you're in San Diego.

  This is a huge zoo. It was great fun with the kids. There were plenty of restrooms and places to eat. What I enjoyed the most walking the Park was the canopy of trees that gave shade and relief from the heat of the sun. It took us 2 hrs to see most of the animals. The many different plants were amazing and the temperature out was perfect. We visited in May during the week so it was enough people to make it interesting and cozy and not over crowded or overwhelming. San Diego Zoo was great!

  We had a wonderful time. The few pictures shared do not do justice on how beautiful this zoo is. The scenery is just phenomenal. All the beautiful trees and different habitats for the animals. This is one of my favorite zoos for anyone. Bring your kiddos, and family for a wonderful time. They're is lots of seating around, benches everywhere for you to rest and pick right back up where you left off. They're were monkeys, elephants, giraffes, mircats, camels, lions, polar bears, pandas, everything you can think of really, they had. Just bring comfortable shoes. I would highly recommend if you have a Stanley or water bottle cup to bring your own container. This way you can have the little food areas fill it with ice and water all day long for no cost. This will save you money being there water bottles were not cheap. Enjoy.

  visited the San Diego Zoo this past Saturday and had a great experience. The zoo was very clean and well maintained, and it was clear that the animals are well cared for. Their habitats looked thoughtfully designed, and everything felt organized and welcoming. There are plenty of places to eat throughout the zoo, including lots of vegan options, which was a big plus. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and make sure to stay hydrated, especially if you’re there for several hours. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely return.
