Come for the hiking, not the western town. Reviewers report most of the movie-set buildings burned in a wildfire and only the church remains; rebuilding is under way and one reviewer found the site unfinished and neglected. Parking is plentiful and trails run straight from the lot.

A historic Hollywood movie ranch and National Park land with flat, grassy, oak-lined loop trails — gentle enough for strollers and dotted with film history. The 2018 Woolsey Fire destroyed most of the ranch's famous "Western Town" set, sparing only the HBO Westworld chapel and the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman train depot; a roughly $26 million rebuild modeled on the ranch's 1920s-30s buildings was reported nearly complete as of September 2026. The oak-shaded loop trails themselves were unaffected by the fire and remain open for an easy family walk.

Great place to hike. Very sad that fires burnt the buildings years ago. Family hike, from the youngest to the oldest. Great place to make good memories with dear college roommate.

Paramount Ranch is this cool little town built as a movie set. I love their Halloween event, and there are plenty of trails to hike nearby. There is lots of parking and the place can feel like an old western ghost town. It is like a peek into the past. Shows like Westworld filmed here, and you can see the iconic church in the background. It was destroyed by a fire in 2028 but it is being rebuilt...
