Popular family beach with gentle surf, Crystal Pier, and a walkable boardwalk full of eateries. Crystal Pier opened in 1927 and has offered overnight stays in cottages built right over the water since 1930, a rarity on the West Coast. The Allen family, who took over ownership in the 1960s, still runs the pier and its hotel today.
