  My husband's fav place for day out. Lol. This lake is Very quite and peaceful. I have been there for Countless times. So been experienced all season including fall. There are few maple tree so perfect for photography too.

  Lovely spot to visit locally when you need a day to be around a body of water.. it’s quite popular but the beach and park are large enough to find a private area without crowding. Clean sand, clear water- just be wary of the little surprises the ducks leave behind

  Too many closures to make this lake worthwhile anymore. Not only is every area of both the upper and lower lakes closed Mondays and Tuesdays, the main launch ramp and campgrounds are also closed on the days it IS open. (Which I assume includes the 24 hour fishing pier on the lower lake). Such a major lake in California shouldn't have these kinds of issues on a regular basis. Might as well close it down.

  Castaic Lake Recreation Center was the perfect spot for our Easter celebration. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt welcoming and festive. The park provided plenty of open space for family activities, and the scenic views around the lake added a peaceful backdrop to our gathering. One of the standout features was how well-maintained the entire area was. The grounds were clean, the landscaping was neatly kept, and the restrooms were spotless — a detail that made a big difference during our visit. It was clear that the staff takes pride in keeping the park in excellent condition for guests. Overall, we had a wonderful time enjoying the fresh air, spending time with loved ones, and taking in the beautiful surroundings. Castaic Lake Recreation Center offered a relaxing and family-friendly environment that made our Easter celebration extra special. We’ll definitely be returning for future holidays and outings.
