  What a neat place! There is so much history and beauty here. They have an historic adobe house from the 1800s, ranch farm equipment, a windmill, wagons, privies, a garden, outdoor oven, a blacksmith shop, and more. They even have farm animals like sheep, goats, chickens, horses, and cattle. They offer free guided adobe house tours but donations are welcome. No pictures are allowed inside the adobe. They also have a gift shop.

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Leonie Adobe Museum is fantastic. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the museum is in excellent condition, and the animals clearly look happy, loved, and very well cared for. I was helped by two super kind ladies in the gift shop and picked up some great items at genuinely good prices. After walking the property, I took the main house tour with Bob, who was patient, friendly, and made the history actually interesting (which is not always easy). I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and every visit has been great. It’s a historic site; meaning it’s not a jungle gym. As for the one-star reviews crying about being “called names”… my guess is those who were acting up didn’t like being told to behave. Some people can’t handle that anymore. Honestly, those reviews read like they were typed in a hurry by people who skipped grammar and parenting class. Five stars, great team, great place. Happy to balance out the nonsense with a review for somewhere that truly deserves it.

  If you are in the area with a couple of hours to kill, this is a wonderful place to visit. The grounds are well maintained, clean, and organized. The docents working here are in full costume for the time period, very friendly, and knowledgeable. There are farm animals on the premises, which you can purchase food for from the gift shop, and feed (great for the kiddos). The tour of the house is about thirty minutes and is very informative. There are well kept carriages, farm equipment, a barn, gardens, and even an old hand working water pump. Parking is right out front and is free is you are only visiting the museum. If you plan on walking the village or eating at one of the restaurants, I believe it was $8. The entry fee is a cash donation, seems like $5 a head is the norm. My youngest daughter enjoyed it and I will bring my oldest daughter back here when we are in the area. Beautiful place.

  Cute place to look around for a little bit. Animals are fun to see. Sadly despite being called "free" the employees aggressively stop people at the door to request the "donation." They even went so far as to inform the large family before us that the "donation" was "per person" and review the cost despite the fact that the family had already donated. At that level of pushiness they should just charge admission (which it's not worth that much).

  Hello, If you are looking for a friendly and safe place to take the kids or grandkids to feed the animals, I highly recommend visiting Leonis Adobe Museum in Calabasas. It’s a wonderful spot that combines history with a hands-on experience for families. The location is very clean and well maintained, and you can clearly see that the staff genuinely care about the animals and the property. The site itself is historic, which adds another layer to the visit because you get to experience a piece of California’s early ranch life while spending time with the animals. One of the great conveniences is that parking is free, making it an easy and affordable outing for families. If you plan to visit on the weekend like we did, keep in mind that there is often a market taking place nearby, which brings in additional visitors and increases foot traffic. It’s not a problem, but it’s something to be aware of when planning your arrival. Overall, it’s a great family-friendly destination where children and grandchildren can safely interact with animals while enjoying a relaxed and welcoming environment.
