Barnes Park

Monterey Park, CA

Free

★★★★★4.5(1,473 Google reviews)

An 11-acre central park with a children's playground, an amphitheater, reservable picnic shelters, a fitness court and tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, walkable from City Hall and the library. The city says the Barnes Park pool is being revitalized, so don't plan a swim here.

We held our annual union picnic at Barnes Park and our members LOVED the location and facilities. We made a reservation and our three pavilions were labeled, clean, and ready. Reservations are for the entire day (12 hours) and the fee is lower if you are a resident of Monterey Park. Our lunch was a drop-in event and we're glad to have had over 150 members show for lunch and raffle prizes.

Very active park. Pickle ball is the game of choice and I've seen people doing yoga in the morning. Very nice
