Friends of the Desert Mountains leads free full-moon hikes and star-watching nights from the Top of the Cove parking lot. Groups are capped at about 20 people. Free tickets open 7 days before each date and go fast. It is a memorable outing for school-age kids, so bring layers because desert evenings cool off quickly.
