  This is the first oasis I have been too. It was incredible to be right in the middle of the palm trees. It was so much cooler in the shade of the thick group of palm trees. A natural spring made the ground wet. We also saw types of lizards we had never seen before. Make sure you carry water and stay on the trails. There is a short peek near by you can walk up and see 360 views. This is also on the San Andreas Fault Line. There is a sign that marks it but it is not otherwise obvious.

  I cannot recommend the Coachella Valley Preserve enough. If you’re in the Palm Springs area, this is an absolute must-visit. It feels like a true mirage—one minute you’re in the arid desert, and the next you’re walking through a lush forest of towering California Fan Palms. We took the McCallum Trail, which is a fairly easy 2-mile round trip. The boardwalk section through the marsh is beautiful, and the payoff at the McCallum Grove pond is incredible. Seeing the Desert Pupfish in the water and hearing the wind rustle through the palm 'skirts' is so peaceful. It’s a great spot for photography—the contrast between the green palms and the sandy Indio Hills is stunning.

  This oasis is so nice! To be able to have a place where the animals can go and have water and relax is awesome.The palms trees are majestic as they surround the oasis and stand there so regal. This is a wonderful place to know about and visit in the Coachella area! So if you are visiting the Palm Springs or Rancho Mirage, stop by and see this tranquil area.

  This natural area is beautiful. Walk along the trail to Simone Pond and then up to the vista spot on the ridge. Surreal landscape and photo ops. However, I was very saddened to see funding dry up for this beautiful natural area. There’s a Native American gentleman who is living on the property and acts as a tour guide. His name is James and he enriched our visit with local history. It was a wonderful afternoon.

  Beautiful place. A literal oasis! It's closed because of a flood just park on the street and walk under the gate like everyone else. Also, stay off the restoration areas
