Just south along the Santa Ana River, this 1,500-acre preserve has miles of easy hiking and a self-guided nature trail, plus a Nature Center open Saturdays where kids can see local wildlife exhibits. Parking is cash-only, so bring small bills. Go early in summer to beat the heat, and watch for birds and river views along the flatter sections.

Lovely trail! Not too challenging for cross country runners but great for long runs or hill repeats. My kids and dogs love it! Just be careful on the hill area, sometime there are coyotes around and adult ones. Parking is spacious and bike and running trail feels endless.

First time doing this trail on our bikes we went all the to mountain rubiduox unfortunately the closer we got to riverside the trashier the trail got, came across a few homeless and druggies, overall the trail is ok, best time is early in the am. Make sure you bring pepper spray or something to protect yourself with if you are doing this trail.

Spring is the most beautiful time for this place. With green covering the hills, still cool and fresh, it's one of the best places yo visit around the area. Paved and well Maintained bike trail along the santa Ana River, you get many miles to ride. Also they have some gravel and dirt trails for horses. Be ready to have locals passing by on biiiig horses, but don't worry they are all super nice and friendly. Not a crowded place any time of the year if you are looking for quietness. I live close by. One of the most visited places to ride my bike during weekends.

Burnt out area at the start of the Santa Ana River Trail. The trail is very lightly used and could use resurfacing in places. No shade, so avoid on hot days.

Good open area, unfortunately due to a recent fire the park and vehicle parking lot are closed. Sunday 5/31/26.
