Edward-Dean Museum & Gardens

Beaumont, CA

★★★★★4.7(203 Google reviews)

Tucked in Cherry Valley, this small decorative-arts museum is surrounded by lovely landscaped gardens kids can wander while you take in the collection. The grounds are the real draw for families — great for a slow stroll and photos. It's only open Thursday through Saturday, so plan around that, and the last tour starts at 4:15.

I married my husband here in 2010. Terri was my wedding coordinator and she was AMAZING!!! I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, I was only 22 and planning my whole wedding myself, and she helped me out in so many ways I don’t know what I would have done without her. This venue is absolutely breathtaking and the perfect place to have a magical wedding. Oh how much the reception hall has changed! So much more beautiful than when I had my wedding, so dark and dreary and big nasty drapes over the big beautiful windows. Nice upgrade. Looks like I need a vow renewal. Coming up on 20 years 2030, only 5 years to plan! I planned my wedding in 2 and a half months, NO LIE! We were engaged end of January and were married April 16th 2010 lol!!!!

The Edward-Dean Museum and Gardens is a beautiful "hidden gem" found in Cherry Valley. The museum is surprisingly larger than expected at first glance and contains 16th to 19th century European and Asian decorative art (takes about an hour to go through). Feels like "a good old days" type of place where the staff are friendly and dedicated to this historical landmark. The museum is fantastic to attended on a peaceful, relaxed weekend day with its mature gardens and rustic charm. Beautiful place for an intimate wedding, especially in the rose garden overlooking the valley!

The Beaumont area is so lucky to have such a lovely and reasonably priced estate to hold weddings at. Summer is friendly and responsive and puts in many hours making sure everything is just right for events. The curtain draping they offer inside the reception hall is just beautiful, the ceremony garden is lovely and intimate, and I personally enjoyed working with the staff.

This was an unexpected pleasure! Our docent, Jessica, was very knowledgeable about the museum, its collections, and art history in general. It's a real bonus having a qualified docent on staff for tours. The collections are not exactly what you see in every other museum either. It must reflect Edward and Dean's personal passions, and we liked it all. Spent about an hour touring. Had a picnic on their lawn before the tour. No benches or tables, so bring a blanket or beach chairs. No concessions, or coffee, but they do have bathrooms.
