A surprisingly hands-on art museum in the downtown Arts Colony — time it to the free Second Saturday ArtWalk outside.

When for the first time in January and I went while they had a very interesting exhibit happening. I came from OC so traffic was heavy but I arrived with in the last hour before closing which was about the time it took me to get through the whole museum and gift shop. Staff was helpful and friendly. I would return to see another exhibit. They have their own parking garage.

Small but interesting museum. I was the only one there on a Friday afternoon. One of the main exhibits was under renovation when I visited; the one that was open was about Chinese communist ceramics in the time of Mao. The signs did a great job explaining the meaning and context of the works, which came out of such a tragic time in history. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Parking was super easy on weekends. There are lots of trees providing shade. The staff is friendly, the museum has lots of unique pottery sculptures with creative messages or expressions. There's a small gift shop selling unique items that are not sold in stores or available elsewhere. If you are looking for one of a kind unique gift ideas the gift shop is worth checking out. There are restrooms available on the upper floor. There's a massive mural with lots of details and expressions cultural artwork. This is our 1st time visiting, and wasn't't sure what to expect. But we really enjoyed the relaxing vibes exploring in the quiet and clean gallery to recharge our souls and minds.

AMOCA is a wonderful museum with a unique and inspiring collection of ceramic art. The exhibits are beautifully displayed, and you can really appreciate the creativity, craftsmanship, and history behind each piece. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a great place to visit if you enjoy art, design, or want to experience something different from the usual museum. Definitely worth a stop!
