AI summary of 5 Google reviews — not a first-hand visit. How we write these

Wide sandy beach with lifeguards, chairs to rent and free street parking if you drive far enough along. The water is cold, and reviewers suggest a jacket for late afternoon. One reviewer found a posted high-bacteria warning and fell ill after swimming, so check water quality notices before the kids go in.

Wide, sparkling-sand beach beside the iconic Hotel del Coronado, great for swimming and sandcastles.

We went to Coronado each on a whim not with swimming in mind (it was cooler and windy). We enjoyed walking the beach for a bit and there was plenty of space. Parking is along the street but we found a space as we drove further down. There is a stone wall but there are also hidden openings to get through.

The location was beautiful. Warm weather, cool breeze, not crowded. Why the low score? I noticed about 1/4 of the seaside had a slight brown tint (only noticeable with sunglasses) & foam occurring as the waves crashed in. There were people swimming & surfing in the water. There were lifeguards on duty, so I figured it was just the dark sand. After spending the day in & out of the water, I head back to my car & spot the little sign warning about "high bacteria levels". I still didn't think much of it. I drive 6 hours home & go to bed. Next morning, I have pink eye. I google the beach's brown water & find that a sewage problem from Tijuana drained into the waterways & currents have pushed it up the CA coastline. So, I (& others) was essentially swimming in a dirty toilet. More notification other than a tiny sign should be made, or the beach even closed until cleanup is complete.
